CITY STADIUM
The current spectator stand at the City Stadium in Koprivnica was completed in 1997. In the first phase it had a 3500 seat capacity with all the then prescribed premises (three dressing rooms for NK Slaven Belupo, NK Koprivnica and the visiting team, refrees’ locker room, a medical examination and physical therapy facility and two offices), but no covered seating area . According to this original project, along with the current stand another building was meant to be built which would contain commercial space (ground and first floor), the club premises, VIP room and several apartments (on the second floor). This entire building would then hold the roof over the stands.
After year 2000, due to the organization of the U-21 match for the Croatian national team against Scotland, the central part of the stand with 500 seats was covered and the entire entrance to the stand was paved. Existing electronic scoreboard on the main field was replaced with a new one of a better quality.
In the year 2006, the club along with its sponsors, added and decorated the space under the stand (six offices for the club’s administration and a VIP lounge), built ??the gym with a jacuzzi, and the training ground with artificial grass and lighting for the football academy.
In 2007, the City of Koprivnica, as the owner of the stadium invested significant funds for the Croatian Cup final against GNK Dinamo by building the lightning system with transformer station and generator for the
main field. Police control room and video surveillance system with five cameras was also added. The club also built a new VIP box with 110 chairs for the VIP guests, built a fence around the whole stand and fixed the main pitch.
The City in collaboration with the Club and in accordance with the UEFA’s Regulations had to further improve the conditions at the city stadium in 2008.
In 2011, the right and left upper parts of the stand were covered so that now it has a roof which covers 1309 seats, and the total stadium capacity is 3139 seats.
